I’ve been writing on Medium off and on for several years, and during that time my growth has been fairly static. To be fair, I never put a significant amount of effort into the site. I had other writing projects that required my time and energy, so I only posted when I felt like it and was happy with the few cents that trickled in each month.

Then, out of nowhere, one of my articles got boosted last year, followed by another. I couldn’t even begin to explain why these essays received boosts when other pieces (some of which I was particularly proud of) did not. But it was interesting enough for me to attempt a little experiment. Essentially, the plan was to more actively put my work up on Medium, focusing on a variety of topics that fit my interests, and getting to know and submitting my work to new publications.

In the month of June, I have published four poems and two articles across four new-to-me publications. Not a ton of content, but the results have been extremely positive. My work has received three additional boosts, and the interactions, readers, and followers that I have recieved has grown across the board.

Now, I’m not here to share a bunch of numbers with you, nor am I interested in…
