I’m going to have to check this out! I first learned about Anna May Wong through one of my favorite reads, Siren Queen by Nghi Vo, which is heavily inspired by Anna May Wong’s life. The novel presents the story of a Chinese-American actress being in films in a world run by tantalizing and dangerous fairy-like beings, and every contract costs you more than you think it does. It’s a gorgeous, lyrical book.
