Psycho is worth a watch. Hitchcock was a great filmmaker. Yes, it's the same trope, but it's well done and one that sets the stage for all the others that came after. At the time, it was very shocking. But also there are many other great Hitchcock films that don't fall into that trope that you could try instead.
